Prevention Is the Best Medicine. Especially for Women.

Paramitha's women's preventive health clinics offer targeted, age-stratified screening programmes โ€” because the earlier we detect, the better the outcome.

Women's Health Screening

Paramitha Hospitals runs dedicated women's preventive health clinics at all six branches in Hyderabad, offering structured health screening packages for women from their 20s through post-menopause. Programmes are designed around the conditions with the highest burden of disease in Indian women: cervical cancer, breast cancer, anaemia, thyroid disorders, PCOS, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis. Screening packages are age-stratified with specific investigation panels for women under 30, 30โ€“45, 45โ€“60, and above 60. Each package includes a consultation with a gynaecologist or physician who reviews results in clinical context and creates an individualised health action plan.

Why Preventive Health Screening Matters for Women

Cervical cancer, breast cancer, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are detectable at a stage when they are far easier to treat โ€” yet most are asymptomatic early on. India has the world's second highest burden of cervical cancer, largely due to inadequate screening.

The purpose of preventive screening is not anxiety creation โ€” it is anxiety reduction. Most results are normal. When an abnormality is found, early detection changes outcomes dramatically.

Individual Screening Tests Explained

Cervical Cancer Screening

Paramitha offers conventional Pap smear, liquid-based cytology (LBC), HPV DNA testing, and co-testing (LBC + HPV) โ€” the most sensitive strategy for women above 30. HPV vaccination (Gardasil/Cervarix) available for ages 9โ€“45 after individual counselling.

Breast Health Screening

Annual clinical breast examination from age 30. Mammography from age 40 (or 35 with family history). Breast self-examination technique taught at every visit. BI-RADS 4/5 results followed with urgent biopsy coordination.

Thyroid, Bone Health & Metabolic Screening

TSH included in all packages with reflex free T4 if abnormal. DEXA scan T-scores: above -1.0 normal, -1.0 to -2.5 osteopenia, below -2.5 osteoporosis. HbA1c, fasting glucose, and lipid profile detect prediabetes and cardiovascular risk early.

Vitamin D, B12 & Anaemia

Vitamin D deficiency is near-universal among urban Indian women. B12 deficiency is common in vegetarians and those on metformin. Iron studies detect deficiency before frank anaemia โ€” treated with supplementation when ferritin is below 30 ng/mL.
